Who is this conference for?

This conference is for anyone who seeks to grow in understanding and application of biblical counseling, whether for their own personal walk, or to minister to others (or both!).  It is  recommend for those age 16 and older.

When is the Pacific Northwest Counseling Conference? 

The Pacific Northwest Counseling Conference will be held June 5-6, 2020. The conference runs Friday, from 5-9:30pm, and Saturday from 8am to 6:30pm. 

How do I register?

What is included in the registration cost? 

The cost covers conference supplies and materials, snacks that are provided in between sessions, and lunch on Saturday. 

How long is registration open?

Registration will be open through June 5, or until capacity has been reached.

What is your cancellation and transfer policy?

You may cancel your registration and receive a 90 percent refund if requested by May 1, 2020.  You will receive a 50 percent refund if you cancel by June 1, 2020.  The cost is non-refundable after that time. You may contact counseling@chccbw.org to transfer your registration to another individual prior to June 1, 2020.  We will not accept transfers after that time.  Please be prepared to give the name and contact information for the person to whom you are transferring.  Please note, they will not be able to change breakout sessions unless there is room is available, which will be determined on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Any transfer of finances related to this is between the two parties involved; Canyon Hills will not be responsible to arrange any payments.

How do I change a breakout session?

You may email counseling@chccbw.org with your request to switch, which will be accommodated based on available space through June 1, 2020.  Please note, we will not be able to switch sessions after that time.

I need to take the Foundations classes for certification, but I see another breakout session I would like to attend – what do I do?

You have a couple of options here!  We will be recording each session, and you may purchase the audio of the conference while there.  If you choose to attend the Foundations breakout session, you can order the Continuing Education session with no additional steps.  If you choose to attend the Continuing Education session, you will need to purchase the Foundations class and listen prior to continuing with class training. You will be required to submit a short summary of that training to the instructor as confirmation you are ready to move forward.

How do I get the remainder of my Foundations training for certification?

Thirty hours of foundational training are required as part of Phase 1: Learning for ACBC.  The remaining hours will be covered by a weekly class held in the fall of 2020 – which you may attend in person, or, we will also live-stream accessible to those who are unable to attend.

What is ACBC Certification?

Canyon Hills is a Certified Biblical Training Center through ACBC [Association of Certified Biblical Counselors], and many of our counselors are certified through this national body.  For more information on what certification is and the pathway to certification, check out ACBC’s Website.

How do I get recordings of sessions?

Each session will be audio recorded and available for purchase at the conference.  You will receive an email with a link, once audio has been downloaded and edited.

Do you offer childcare?

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide childcare for this event, and as a courtesy to all our attenders, we kindly ask that you do not bring your children with you.  Infants are welcome to attend with parents (we do offer a family room at the back of our Worship Center if it is needed).

Where and when do I check in?

You will be able to check in at our main church lobby at the registration table.  This table will be open on Thursday, June 5, from 5-7pm, and again on Friday, beginning at 3pm.

Where should I park?

You may park anywhere in the parking lot of the main Canyon Hills Community Church building, or in front of our other buildings (Canyon Hills 3 and 4).  Please note any signs that reserve parking for other businesses.  You may also park at the Park ‘N Ride, just one block south on 17th Ave.  It’s a short walk or golf cart ride to the church!

Will you be able to accommodate food allergies?

We will do our best to offer a variety of foods, snacks, and beverages for those who have food allergies or sensitivities.  If you have a severe allergy, or many allergies/sensitivities, we ask that you bring your own food or plan on eating offsite for lunch.  While we hope to accommodate as much as we can, we know individual needs vary greatly and we will not be able to guarantee all needs are met.
