How are you taking precautions for COVID for those attending in person?
We will communicate all requirements and recommendations in advance of the conference at a closer date when we are aware of what current protocols and mandates will be at that time. This may include: wearing a mask, sitting spaced apart from those not in your household, utilizing our hand sanitizing stations, following arrows of entrance and exit to a room, only offering individually packaged food and beverages, and more. We will cap capacity of this event at the maximum attendance permitted for our spaces to offer the ability to spread out.
What if I would like to change the modality of my attendance? (In person to online or vice-versa)
You may email email@example.com with your request to switch by May 4, 2021. (Please note - if you're not feeling well, we ask that you please NOT attend in person, but instead let us know and we'll get you set up to watch online).
How will virtual sessions be delivered and for how long do I have access?
You will receive an email the day of the conference with all links and attachments for your sessions. Keynote sessions will be live-streamed, and should be attended in real time. Breakout sessions are sent pre-recorded and can be watched at any time or in any order. Those are yours to keep as part of your virtual registration packet. You will also be given information on how to purchase and access other sessions in that email.
What is ACBC Certification?
Canyon Hills is a Certified Biblical Training Center through ACBC, and many of our counselors are certified through this nationally recognized counseling agency. For more information on what certification is and the pathway to certification, check out ACBC’s Website.
Do the foundational courses count toward training for Phase 1 of certification?
While the foundational courses will give you a good taste of the basics of biblical counseling, it does not constitute the full 30+ hours of training required for meeting the criteria for Phase 1 of certification. The full teaching will be offered at Canyon Hills this Fall!
How do I get recordings of sessions?
Each session will be video recorded and available for purchase at the conference. You will receive an email with a link, once video has been downloaded and edited.
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide childcare for this event, and as a courtesy to all our attenders, we kindly ask that you do not bring your children with you. Infants are welcome to attend with parents (we do offer a family room at the back of our worship center if it is needed).
Where and when do I check in?
You will be able to check in in our main church lobby at the registration table. This table will be open on Thursday, May 6, 5-7pm and again on Friday, beginning at 3pm.
You may park anywhere in our parking lot of the main church building, or in front of our other buildings (Canyon Hills 3 and 4). Please note any signs that reserve parking is for other businesses (and do not park there). You may also park at the Park ‘N Ride, just one block south on 17th Ave. It’s a short walk to the church!
Will you be able to accommodate food allergies?
We will do our best to offer a variety of foods, snacks, and beverages for those who have food allergies or sensitivities. If you have a severe allergy, or many allergies/sensitivities, we ask that you bring your own food or plan on eating offsite for lunch. While we hope to accommodate as much as we can, we know individual needs vary greatly and we will not be able to guarantee all needs are met.
